They often describe nouns by showing qualities or characteristics.
Adjectives tell which one, what kind, or how many.
The water is cold.

Pronouns That Function
as Adjectives
When pronouns, such as the following, modify
nouns or pronouns, they function as adjectives:
- Numerical:
one, two, first, second
EXAMPLE:
He hit the ball on his second swing.
- Possessive:
my, her, his, your, their, its [See

EXAMPLE:
They remembered to bring their books.
- Demonstrative:
this, that, these, those
EXAMPLE:
This weather has been wonderful.

I remember whatever John tells me.
- Indefinite:

EXAMPLE:
Both quarterbacks performed well.
